As a Project Leader Product Development, I am responsible for transferring MLPA products from research use only (RUO) to in vitro diagnostic (IVD) status. This involves gathering and assessing information about our products from different departments. You really get an in-depth understanding of how the products perform, whether they could be improved, and how they are used in the lab. The position is very dynamic and always challenging, allowing me to learn and grow in my career. I feel I am making a difference in the lives of individuals who depend on MLPA products for insight into their health. I have a dual role as Senior Technician and Instrument Evaluator. As a Senior Technician, I perform laboratory tests on new batches of MLPA probemixes and make small adjustments so the mixes meet the standard quality criteria. As an Instrument Evaluator, I am responsible for checking and approving instrument calibrations. This variation is exactly what makes my job a perfect fit for me at MRC Holland.
