If you use MLPA with a Beckman/SCIEX capillary electrophoresis system, please note the following software and reagent updates.
We have released a new version of Coffalyser.Net, our free MLPA data analysis software. This version, v.260901.1020, contains improvements that are primarily relevant to users of Beckman and SCIEX capillary electrophoresis devices.
If you use a Beckman or SCIEX capillary electrophoresis device, we recommend updating to this latest version. If you use a different electrophoresis platform, there is no need to update at this time, as the benefits of this release are expected to be very limited for other devices.
Lowered warning thresholds for high signals on Beckman/SCIEX CEQ 8000 and CEQ 8800/GeXP devices to improve detection of saturated signals.
For a full list of changes, consult the release notes.

Please note that if you open an existing experiment after updating, it must be reanalysed before the results can be viewed. No sample data or settings are lost (see the FAQ below for details).
Please let us know if you have questions or run into any issues. We are always happy to hear from you.
Who should install this update?
Active users of Beckman or SCIEX capillary electrophoresis devices are encouraged to install the new version to benefit from the improvements described above. Other users may choose to wait for a future release.
Can I install this update even if I do not use a Beckman or SCIEX device?
Yes. The new version is suitable for all capillary electrophoresis devices. The only reason this is not specifically recommended is because the benefits are expected to be very limited, and waiting for the next version may be more efficient.
What happens to existing experiments after updating?
Raw data, sample information, and experiment settings are not affected. However, existing experiments must be reanalysed when first opened after updating. This is necessary because the previous data analysis did not store all values required by the improved quality checks.
To view the results of an existing experiment, simply open the experiment and repeat the analysis without making any other adjustments.
Can I continue to use v.250317.1029 or v.240129.1959?
Yes. These versions remain supported for the time being. If you use a Beckman or SCIEX device, however, we recommend updating to the latest version.
Due to declining demand for Beckman/SCIEX workflows, MRC Holland will phase out its Cy5-labelled primers. They will remain available for purchase while stocks last, with the final batches carrying an expiry date of July 2028. Please let us know if you have any questions or would like advice on possible other CE platforms suitable for MLPA analysis. You can always reach out to us at info@mrcholland.com.
