2021: A year in review
For many of us, 2021 was another year in turmoil, with COVID-19 still dominating news headlines. The pandemic has also had its effects on MRC Holland, as a shortage in laboratory plastics made these goods more difficult to obtain, while logistic challenges worldwide meant we had to increase our efforts to get our products to our customers in time. Fortunately, we managed to navigate these rocky waters unscathed, for which we are grateful.
This is, first and foremost, thanks to you, our customers. 2021 has seen a substantial increase in the use of MRC Holland assays, and we thank you for your continued trust in us and our products.

In various countries around the world, SALSA MC002 SMA Newborn Screen is now used to screen neonates for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). The marked increase in the use of the SALSA MLPA P034/P035 DMD assays is due to the implementation of nation-wide carrier screening program for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in Israel.
